Facial Rejuvenation treatments are longer than regular acupuncture appointments because they involve both a spa like facial with an acupuncture treatment. The treatment entails a quick facial cleansing, Chinese herbal mask, cooling jade rollers, very thin acupuncture needles inserted into the face to relax muscles and soften wrinkles, red light therapy, and then finally the application of a natural facial oil and a gentle yet stimulating facial cupping session (suction technique to increase circulation).
Constitution is not ignored in this style of treatment so during the initial treatment a health history is taken and a Chinese medical diagnosis is formed. Patient and practitioner will work together to plan a course of treatment and set goals.

Quabbin Valley Acupuncture accepts cash, check, Flexible Spending Account Cards, Visa, and MasterCard.

I take referrals from the VA for veterans to receive acupuncture through the community care program.

Payment is expected at the time of service.

I do not currently bill insurance providers directly! Many insurance companies do not cover acupuncture services. Please call your provider and tell them you are interested in receiving acupuncture. If your provider does cover acupuncture I would be happy to provide you with a bill and codes for you to submit for reimbursement. Please skip the insurance section on the new patient form.

New patient treatments at Quabbin Valley Acupuncture are longer than return visits and include a rigorous intake in order to form an individualized, complex Chinese medical diagnosis. Plan on spending an hour or more at your first appointment.
Patient and practitioner will work together to plan a course of treatment and set goals. Much of the appointment will involve discussion of the current condition along with an in-depth traditional Chinese medical assessment. A short acupuncture session is also included along with possibly some of the other traditional Oriental medical therapies (diet and lifestyle counseling or traditional Chinese herbal medicine).

Fee for initial treatment is $68. For seniors over 65 the price is $60.

New patients will receive an email with a link to fill out all new patient questionnaires and can use their mouse pad to sign consent forms. You should skip the insurance section and SS# if you are not coming as a VA referral. If you have any difficulties with the forms you can fill them out on a tablet when you get to the office.

Like an initial visit, patient and practitioner will take time to discuss progress, changes in the condition, and goals. Acupuncture and possibly other Oriental medicine therapies may be provided. Return treatments are usually shorter than initial treatments, taking around 45 minutes to an hour.

Return Treatment: $58
    -Seniors over 65: $50

Treatment may include manual therapies like tuina (Chinese massage), cupping, or gua sha (a scraping technique) after the needles have been removed. These therapies are not always needed but can greatly increase effectiveness for many conditions especially  musculoskeletal issues.

Manual therapy following acupuncture: $7

Red light therapy involves exposing your skin and body to certain wavelengths of red and near infrared light. My red light units are classified as Class II medical devices. They are mounted so that they are suspended over the treatment table allowing the patient to comfortably lay under them. Red light therapy can be added to acupuncture treatments or used on its own. The shorter wavelengths of light stay more on the surface of the body stimulating the skin and hair. The longer near infrared wavelengths pass deeper into the body tissues like muscle and even bone. The light causes your cells to produce more energy which can slow aging, speed healing, and reduce inflammation. 15- 20 minute sessions 2-3 times a week are ideal for faster results.
